Who is Frank EB

My musical journey started long before I ever picked up a guitar. I grew up in a family where music was everywhere—always playing, always shaping the world around me. But everything truly began to take form when my Uncle Al gave me my first guitar lesson at the age of eleven. Not long after, I stumbled upon a record that changed my life: B.B. King’s Live at Cook County Jail. From that moment forward, I was hooked. You could say I was off and running.

I spent those early years listening, watching, and learning anything I could about the music that moved me. I started showing up at local blues jams and open mics, soaking up every note and every lesson they had to offer. Those nights eventually led to my first solo gigs and the creation of Frankie Boy & The Blues Express—the first of many musical adventures that shaped who I am today.

Along the way, countless people helped guide me, and I remain deeply grateful to each of them. I treasure the time I spent touring the world with blues singer Eliza Neals, as well as the unforgettable experience of playing guitar with my friend and mentor Luther “Guitar Junior” Johnson. Luther taught me the most important lesson of all: be yourself, and play from the heart. That wisdom has stayed with me every single day.

These days, that’s exactly what I’m doing. Blending different styles and exploring new sounds has become its own adventure. I’m still listening, learning, and growing, following a path that has taken me down many unexpected side roads—and I don’t regret a single one of them. I believe God gave me a gift, and I’m doing my best to give it back to the world with love.

Peace,
Frank EB
